top 5 small-cap stocks with robust fundamentals in 2024.

Throughout this week, the performance of global markets, the actions of foreign investors, and fluctuations in oil prices will serve as pivotal driving forces influencing the domestic markets.

Both the key benchmark indices, namely Sensex and Nifty 50, closed the week in a negative territory for the fourth consecutive session. This decline was primarily attributed to weak global cues, characterized by a surge in US Treasury yields to multi-year highs and an approximately 1% increase in crude oil prices.

Siddhartha Khemka, Head of Retail Research at Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd., commented, "Given the prevailing global concerns, we anticipate continued pressure on the market in the short term. Consequently, we recommend that investors consider higher allocations towards defensive stocks and large-cap companies. Investors will also closely monitor important economic indicators such as US and UK GDP figures, EU inflation data, US and China Manufacturing PMI, and India's Infrastructure output data, all of which are scheduled for release this week, to gain further insights into market direction."
